Dry Type Transformers

ATL offers a comprehensive range of Copper and Aluminium wound dry type transformers. We offer single phase and three phase solutions both as open type and enclosed type with housings of IP ratings IP23….. P65. The swan neck type transformer housing introduced by ATL provides high degree of cooling in these naturally cooled dry type transformers. Dry type transformers are available as isolation, safety isolation as well as auto transformers. We produce dry type transformers up to a power level of 1.5MVA and up to 12kV bracket as per IEC 60076. High Frequency Transformers

ATL with years of research has arrived at proprietary solutions for high power high frequency transformers and ATL is proud to state that number of customers have already benefit from these solutions.

Range of high frequency transformers, low power transformers , high power high frequency transformers, high voltage high frequency transformers and Planar transformers for modern applications.
With the latest developments in power electronics components such as SiC MosFETs the demand for high power high frequency transformers has grown rapidly. Energy efficiency, low noise, reduced mass and dimensions have become more and more vital factors in designing magnetics for these modern power electronics applications such as rolling stock, renewable energy applications.

In order to achieve high degree of miniaturization power electronics designers move into significantly high operating (switching) frequencies in the development of modern high-power converters and inverters. This has made it challenging for many magnetic manufactures to supply compact high-power high frequency transformers.

Amorphous Core Transformers

Energy efficient, low loss amorphous transformers reduce greenhouse gas emission.
Amorphous core transformers reduce the electrical energy losses up to 40% in comparing with conventional transformers and thereby reduce the CO2 emissions considerably. The environment contribution of certain amorphous transformers seen as an equivalent of over 300 tress per year.

Robust for high frequency harmonics generated by the increased use of power electronics.
AT present ATL produces amorphous transformers per order, however ATL is planning to present a standard series of Amorphous in near future.
ATL accepts enquires up to power level of 5MVA and voltages up to 12kW bracket.

Direct-current electricity can now be transmitted at gigantic 1,100 kilovolts

The world´s first transformer, which has been designed and manufactured for the HVDC transmission line with the highest direct-current electricity of ± 1,100 kilovolt (kV) has been tested successfully in Nuremberg, Germany. The transformer will enable low-loss and extremely efficient high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) power transmission over a record distance of 3,284 kilometers with a transmission capacity of twelve gigawatts.

Reliable power transmission from New Jersey to New York City

How do you provide sufficient and reliable power for a megacity like New York? Hudson Transmission Partners, LLC, awarded Siemens with the contract to connect the power supply networks of New Jersey and New York for a 660 MW back-to-back HVDC system. The challenge has been to provide a stable interconnection of two independent grids in an area with limited space and restrictive noise requirements, all within a short time. Eight Converter Transformers for HVDC Transmission helped to master this challenge and to ensure a reliable power supply for New York City.
